Toronto city beaches are beautiful. These beaches are a great vacation spot for Toronto locals and tourists alike. They are easily accessible to all, with lots of space – you’ll have no trouble finding your perfect patch of sand. Public transportation options in the city of Toronto are generally very good. However, if you are driving, keep in mind that parking is difficult in some areas. So try to go early during summer days
1. Woodbine Beach
Woodbine Beach is an absolute gem in the east end of Toronto and this beach is full of natural beauty. This beach is very clean and includes washrooms and changing areas, making it family-friendly and accessible. Also, nearby parks offer ample space for picnics and relaxation. Whether you want to enjoy a fun-filled day with the family in Woodbine Beach, Woodbine Beach has something for everyone. A must visit destination on a sunny day in Toronto! Woodbine Beach is a great place to sit and watch the ocean. Since the coastline of Woodbine Beach is so long, everyone can find a peaceful place to enjoy here. This beach is a perfect place for hiking and walking and you can bike around here if you want, and there is a washroom that is clean and big enough. Since it is so open and wide there is always some gust of wind which can make the area much cooler.

2. Bluffer's Beach
Bluffers Beach is a wonderful place. This makes the place perfect for photography, picnics and relaxing by the water. The beach area is very clean and a great place to swim, while the trails offer a peaceful escape into nature. There is also a marina if you are into boating. Whether you’re looking for a day of adventure or a quiet spot, Bluffers Park has something for everyone. This beach is a hidden gem of the city! The shower station and washroom are very clean. Ample amount of parking spots on these bluffers beach. Free parking 6AM-5PM and 9PM-11PM (Mon-Fri). The beach and water are very clean and there are life guards. This beach is a great place to enjoy summer and sun.

3. Cherry Beach
I really like the feel at Cherry Beach. It’s not hugely sandy like Woodbine Beach, but its waters are sheltered by Tommy Thompson Park (Leslie St Spit) so the water is calmer than other city Beaches open to the lake. And given the way it’s positioned, the late afternoon sunlight glints off the water as you look out to the Spit. It’s pretty and calming here and generally less busy than Woodbine Beach. There’s a stand of tall trees on the other side of the main parking lot and their shade and the way the wind rustles through their waving branches would make it a nice picnic spot. You can walk all the way to the west point for its views but its shaggier condition is kind of a remnant of when the city didn’t care about Cherry Beach. You can walk or ride eastward on the trail that parallels Unwin and that will take you to the start of Tommy Thompson Park (check its schedule). This is a Blue Flag Beach (so it meets certain quality standards), there’s a decent washroom, there’s two lots of roomy parking, there’s TTC access, there’s paddleboard and kayak rentals, and there’s a regular food truck too.
Note that as at September 2024, direct access up Cherry St is not possible but the paths and road improvements will be fantastic once completed.

4. Centre Island Beach, Toronto Islands
Toronto Center Island is a fantastic destination for families. Toronto Center Island boasts a beautiful beach and a dedicated staff that ensures a pleasant visit. Although the water quality of this island could be improved, clean washrooms and adequate changing rooms add convenience. Toronto Center Island offers ample picnic areas and BBQ spots to relax and enjoy a meal. Beyond the beach, the island offers paid options like amusement parks, kayaking, and private cruises, which add excitement and variety to the experience.Overall, it’s a great place for kids and families to have outdoor fun and relaxation.

5. Ward's Island Beach, Toronto Islands
To find peace and quiet in Toronto, you can visit Ward’s Island Beach, an island very close to Toronto but not far from Toronto. This Wards Island beach is very peaceful, relaxing and very beautiful. Here you can ride a bike very comfortably. Wards Island Beach is very beautiful and clean beach. Summer is one of the attractions of this beach. To get to Wards Island Beach you need to take the ferry from Toronto – walking distance from Union Station. Once you reach Wards Island-walk straight for 10 minutes to reach the beach. Bring your towel and water to fully enjoy the charms of Wards Island Beach. The toilets are located near the beach. Wards Island Beach is very clean, quiet and peaceful beach!

6. Gibraltar Beach, Toronto Islands
This place is not crowded beach point. If you want some peace & privacy this is for you. It’s open now & you can enjoy ride on bicycle. The gardens surrounding Gibraltar Beach are wonderfully green and sunny.. You’ll get vibe.

7. Kew-Balmy Beach
A quieter alternative to Kew-Balmy Beach. The water of this Woodbine beach is very clear and clean. You can enjoy a leisurely walk on the trail, or cycle along the path. Kayak rentals are available at Kew-Balmy Beach and you can try your hand at stand up paddle boarding. This Kew-Balmy Beach is a perfect picnic spot for a Sunday family outing. Great beach for walking your dog. As a bonus, the Waterline area is an off-leash area until March 31, making it one of Toronto’s largest off-leash areas. Just make sure your dog has a good recall command or it may run into pickering!

8. Rouge Beach
Amazing beach! This beach is a perfect place to just sit and relax. The area of Rouge Beach is very peaceful and usually the beach is not very crowded. The beach is nice but the water is little murky it being adjacent to marsh land, nonetheless you will see people fishing, kayaking and swimming in water. The sunset view to lotus filled water is so captivating that you will stay at a place until dark. The walking trail is long enough for kids and adults to sweat and rest with regular gentle nudge from GO train chug which keeps you awake. All the nearby parking lots are free and big to accommodate.

9. Sunnyside Beach
Beach volleyball is close enough to downtown to experience Sunnyside Beach on a sunny day. Sunnyside Beach has beautiful trees and a park behind you with a children’s playground, a large pool, and a restaurant. The beach itself is fine with wave breakers obstructing the view of the water, pebbles and rocks making the sand a bit uncomfortable to sit on. You can paddle and kayak on the water at Sunnyside Beach among the seagulls, swans and ducks. This beach is not very crowded so it was worth the trip all in all, especially since it is accessible by streetcar. A children’s play area has been added here and it is quite nice. There is also a wheelchair only swing, but this is very popular with children who do not need a wheelchair. There are picnic tables nearby and plenty of shade so it’s a great place to while away a few hours. It is also a great place to watch air shows. Lots of plants, but it’s something you sacrifice if you don’t want to stand in the sun for too long. Overall, Sunnyside Beach is a great place for kids and adults alike.
